Every old film screening in Sydney, on one page.
Seven cinema websites, each with its own calendar, each burying the classics under whatever opened on Thursday. They are read fresh every night and collected here, so you check one page instead of seven.

Screenings still to come, not the whole programme. All read .
Palace only publishes about a fortnight ahead, which is why its rows look thin — not because it has stopped programming.
For machines
Everything on this site is open to crawlers, search engines and AI assistants alike. The whole programme is machine-readable as screenings.json — venues, Sydney start times, print formats, booking links, TMDB ids and original release years — and both pages carry schema.org JSON-LD. llms.txt is the short version. Quote any of it; link the cinema’s booking page when you do, because a session time nobody can act on helps no one.
What this site counts
Which pages get opened, which booking links get followed, what people search for and which filters they use — plus what any analytics sees: roughly which city, which browser, and where you arrived from. Enough to tell whether anyone is finding the 70mm print, and which cinema is worth adding next. There is a random id stored in this browser so that coming back counts as coming back — a string of random characters, not an email, not a name, nothing derived from you, and no use to anybody on any other site. No cookies, no IP addresses kept, no mouse tracking, no session replay. None of it is sold, and none of it goes to an advertiser.
The weekly email is sent with Buttondown, which holds your address and nothing else about you — plus that same random id, if counting is on, so a subscriber’s visits can be told apart from a stranger’s. It is used for that one email, never shared, and every issue ends with a one-click unsubscribe.
Counting is on in this browser. , and the id goes with it.
Contact
hello@sydneyretrocinemas.comCorrections, a missing cinema, or a screening that should be here.
Film details, posters, directors, runtimes and release years come from TMDB; posters remain the property of their respective rights holders. Session times are read from each cinema’s own website and belong to them. This site is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any cinema listed, and every booking link goes to the cinema’s own page.
Listings are collected automatically and will sometimes be wrong, stale or incomplete — a session can be moved or sold out minutes after it is read. “Sold out” and “selling fast” are what a cinema said at the last nightly check, and only some cinemas say either, so a session with no label is not a promise of seats. Check with the cinema before you travel or book. Everything here is provided as is, with no warranty of any kind, and no responsibility is accepted for any loss, cost or disappointment arising from using it.
